Details On More Changes Coming To WWE Raw & SmackDown WWE

Details have been revealed of production changes set to be implemented on WWE Raw and SmackDown going forward.

Days removed from a previous report of WWE “scaling back” certain aspects of production on Raw and SmackDown, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson has now revealed more specifics on changes set to be made to WWE’s programming.

According to Johnson one noticeable change will be related to the use of augmented reality content on WWE TV.

This has become a staple of WWE’s production in recent years, with stars such as Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes having AR used in their entrances.

According to Johnson, the use of AR will not be stopped entirely, however, its presence on WWE TV tapings will be less prevalent. Instead this will be used on “occasion”, likely being saved for Premium Live Events.

Then following up on his previous report, Johnson added further detail on WWE’s scaling back of production in other areas, with the smaller scale sets and titantrons being used in favor of traditional large screens and stage areas.

This change has been seen already on the Raw after WrestleMania and last night’s SmackDown (April 12), allowing for WWE to increase the capacity of their shows.

WWE will also reportedly be bring fewer staff and equipment to shows for “lighting and production purposes”, with fewer production trucks being used at events.

WrestleTalk will provide further updates on any future changes being made to WWE programming as/when they are reported.
