Multiple WWE Names Reached Out To KAIRI After IWGP Women’s Title Win NJPW

IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI (fka WWE’s Kairi Sane) has named the WWE stars who reached out to her following her title win.

KAIRI became the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion at the November 20 NJPW X STARDOM Historic X-Over event, defeating Mayu Iwatani in the finals of the tournament for the gold.

The title win marked a huge moment in NJPW history, as the company prepares to introduce a women’s division for the US brand.

In an interview with NJPW, KAIRI agreed that there was a lot of buzz surrounding her championship victory from outside Japan.

Naming the WWE stars who congratulated her on her victory, KAIRI said:

“You might be right. Not just from fans, but from the WWE locker room as well.

“ASUKA, Io (IYO SKY), Shayna Baszler all sent congratulations, so it was great to have that reception even after I’d left that company.”

When asked about Shinsuke Nakamura, KAIRI noted:

“He liked my post after I won! I know he’ll be in Japan on january 1 wrestling the Great Muta so I’d like to be there and take that in.”

WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura will face The Great Muta at the Pro Wrestling NOAH’s The New Year show on January 1, on Muta’s retirement tour.

On the topic of Forbidden Doors, there have been rumors that KAIRI will make an appearance at the January 28 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event.

Following reports that Sasha Banks (Mercedes Varnado) will be at Wrestle Kingdom 17, some are anticipating a confrontation between Sasha and KAIRI.
