WWE is often talked about for being a workplace that doesn’t allow their talent the chance to do their own thing. This has been seen a lot recently with their bans on third-party platforms. However, it has now been revealed that WWE rejected an idea for Renee Paquette.
During the most recent episode of Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, she and CM Punk discussed WWE getting in the way of their potential ventures.
While Punk brought up WWE trying to talk THQ out of putting him on the cover of WWE 13, Paquette revealed they rejected an idea for her to host a wrestling cooking show. Instead, the hosting gig was given to Bo Dallas. Here is the quote:
“That stuff is so infuriating. I’ve had so many people say things like that to me since I’ve left too. Like ‘oh we pitched this for you. We wanted you to host a f***ing cooking show with wrestlers.’ I’m like ‘yeah, no s***, that would be great.’ Nope. They don’t give it to me. They gave it to Bo Dallas. I love Bo Dallas, go get it, do what you gotta do, but like f***! I could never catch a break. Like I couldn’t get anything done. I couldn’t even get a podcast off the ground! Like give me a f***ing podcast! Nobody gives a s*** about that but still, ‘nope, you can’t do it. No dice.'”
The show ended up being called Kitchen SmackDown and can be found on YouTube. Paquette left WWE earlier this year.
