Released WWE Star Returns For First Match In Nine Months WWE

A released WWE star has returned to the ring for their first match since the May 15, 2023 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Following the reveal of his post-WWE ring name, Elias competed for the first time in nine months at the Wrestling REVOLVER’s Whatashow event last night (February 17).

Taking place in Grand Prairie, TX, Elias – now competing as Elijah, took on TNA’s ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey in on-on-one action.

Unfortunately for Elijah he would fall short in his return contest, as Bailey picked up the win after over 15 minutes.

While Elijah most recently played a babyface in WWE, it seems like he’s ready to embrace a heel character once again as he attacked Bailey after the bell when the TNA star attempted to show respect.

You can check out footage from the event which shows this down below.

Elijah spent nine years in WWE, and was at one point one of the company’s most popular heels garnering massive crowd responses.

Despite the disappointment for fans after his September 2023 release, the 36-year-old was thankful to WWE after the news broke, where he reflected on working with legends such as The Undertaker and John Cena.
