WWE Teasing Undertaker vs. Sting Dream Match

WWE Teasing Undertaker vs. Sting Dream Match

The Undertaker vs. Sting was a dream match wrestling fans across the globe have fantasy booked for years. When Sting joined WWE in 2014, many thought we’d finally get to see the clash between the WCW icon and “The Deadman”.

However, Sting only wrestled three times for Vince McMahon’s company after a neck injury in a WWE Championship match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions forced him into early retirement.

Over the past few days, WWE has been teasing a match between the two legends of the business. Some speculated that this would lead to the announcement of Sting vs. The Undertaker for SummerSlam or the next Saudi Arabia show.

The culmination of the teases has dropped, and subsequently the debut episode of WWE Reimagined has been released to YouTube.

In the episode, current WWE superstars and legends of the past look back on the career of The Undertaker and consider what would have happened if “The Phenom” left WWE and signed with WCW to feud with Sting.

In the video, Sting had the following to say on what a potential match with The Undertaker would have been like:

“There is no way The Stinger is gonna get tombstoned by The Taker. That ain’t happening. Not on my watch. What would have happened is a few stinger splashes, a death drop, and probably the deathlock. … To have Taker at that time, I don’t think there would have been a chance for any kind of comeback for WWE at the time.”

At this point, it seems like this is the closest we will ever get to seeing a Sting vs. Undertaker match, and at the pair’s age, it is probably for the best.
