It was announced earlier today that the SmackDown Tag Team titles would be defended on the April 9 episode of SmackDown. However, we now know who will be involved in the match.
When the match was announced, all we knew was that it would take place. Now, WWE has announced that Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode will defend the titles against Alpha Academy, Rey and Dominik Mysterio, and the Street Profits. Here is the official preview from WWE.com:
“For months the SmackDown Tag Team division has been extremely competitive, forcing WWE Official Adam Pearce to make a major decision. Next Friday, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode will look to defend their titles in a Fatal 4-Way against The Street Profits, Rey & Dominik Mysterio and Otis & Chad Gable.”
These four teams have been mixing it up recently so it should come as no surprise that they are the four who will be competing.
WWE also announced that the Andre The Giant Memorial battle royale would be taking place on the same episode of SmackDown. This will be the first time the match will be taking place outside of WrestleMania.
