Becky Lynch has revealed that there is “full truth” to Tegan Nox story.
On the September 18 edition of WWE Raw, Becky Lynch issued an open challenge for anyone to challenger her for the NXT Women’s Championship. The challenge was answered by Natalya, who lost to Lynch.
As previously reported, Fightful Select reported that Tegan Nox was scheduled to answer the open challenge and face Lynch on the episode before it was scrapped before the show aired.
On the September 25 episode of WWE Raw, Lynch confronted Nox backstage and stated that she hoped that Tegan had answered her challenge.
Speaking to the New York Post, the current NXT Women’s Champion was asked if she had pushed to wrestle Nox. She answered:
“There is full truth in that. That was one of the things that I wanted to do with this title.”
“I wanted to have open challenges for the women who haven’t been getting opportunities, women that have been in the back that love wrestling and that want an opportunity and haven’t been able to get it.”
Becky Lynch is set to face Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules Match for the NXT Women’s Championship at this Saturday’s NXT No Mercy premium live event.
Lynch shared her thoughts on Stratton’s WWE future elsewhere in the interview, which you can read at this link.
If Becky is able to defeat Tiffany, she will move on to defend her title against Tegan Nox on the October 2 edition of WWE Raw.
