WWE SmackDown typically airs in the United States every Friday on Fox at 8pm Eastern, but will have a change for the July 21 episode.
With the FIFA Women’s World Cup starting on July 20 and running through August 20 2023, Fox will be covering soccer games on the channel.
This means that WWE SmackDown is going to be moving, at least temporarily, with FS1 airing the July 21 episode.
For soccer fans, Fox will be showing the United States vs Vietnam game live at 9pm Eastern Time.
The last time SmackDown was moved to FS1 was in October 2022 due to coverage of the MLB World Series, with that October 28 episode of SmackDown on FS1 drawing 835,000 viewers.
The Wrestling Observer reports that this was “likely the lowest viewership number in the history of the show, with the exception of the “best of” episode that aired in December 2021 also on FS1.
Roman Reigns is being advertised for an appearance on the July 21 SmackDown ahead of his August 5 SummerSlam match against Jey Uso.
