WWE SmackDown Star Reveals Rejected 24/7 Championship Idea

Back in May, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley introduced the 24/7 Championship on Raw. The title has been treated as nothing more than a comedy belt, but has undeniably produced some funny moments thanks to the likes of R-Truth and Drake Maverick.

R-Truth might have dropped the title to NASCAR driver Kyle Busch on last night’s episode of Raw, but he regained the belt after the show went off the air. Truth is now a 24-time champion.

The seventh man to hold the championship was former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Heath Slater. Slater won the belt on 06/24 episode of Raw by pinning R-Truth.

Slater held the championship for a matter of minutes, but he has now revealed that he pitched an idea to WWE where he would have a longer run with the belt.

Replying to a fan on Twitter, Slater revealed that he pitched an idea to WWE Creative that would have seen him have a long run with the belt. However, the pitch clearly fell on deaf ears.

Health has only won the title once, and with the belt now on Raw, the SmackDown star likely won’t be adding another reign to his collection anytime soon.

Would you have liked to see Heath Slater have a longer run with the 24/7 Championship? Let us know on Twitter or Facebook.
