A WWE star has commented on their recent championship defenses on WWE television after winning the championship last month.
Back at AAA’s Noche de Los Grandes event in May, Rey Fenix captured his first championship of his WWE career, when he defeated Laredo Kid to win the AAA Cruiserweight Championship in the opening match of the show.
Since winning the title just over a month ago, Fenix has already become a workhorse champion, defending the title in AAA in a three-way against Lince Dorado and Laredo Kid, as well as on WWE SmackDown with defenses against Axiom, Nathan Frazer and El Hijo del Vikingo in recent weeks.
Rey Fenix Calls Himself ‘Best Cruiserweight Wrestler In The Universe’
Taking to social media following last night’s SmackDown show, where he retained his title against Vikingo, Fenix commented on his recent title defenses, branding himself the ‘best cruiserweight wrestler in the universe’.
He said:
35 days, 4 title defenses in 3 different countries. The best cruiserweight wrestler in the universe #MexaKing

More AAA Integration On WWE Television?
After WWE purchased AAA last year, we have seen some major integration between WWE’s brands and AAA, with Dominik Mysterio currently reigning as the AAA Mega Champion.
The storyline between El Grande Americano and the Original El Grande Americano was shared across both WWE Raw and AAA television, culminating in the mask vs. mask match back at Noche de Los Grandes.
It seems as though AAA integration with the WWE main roster and NXT is only going to keep growing in the coming weeks, as AAA Tag Team Champions Erik and Ivar of the War Raiders have been appearing backstage with Damian Priest and R-Truth on SmackDown, with Priest and Truth challenging them to a title vs. title match on SmackDown during last night’s show.
As well as the WWE main roster, NXT has seen a new influx of crossover with AAA, with Galeno and Hijo del Dr Wagner Jr challenging Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor of the Vanity Project for the NXT Tag Team Championship on this week’s episode of NXT, as well as a planned NXT Latin American Championship clash between EK Prosper and Hijo del Vikingo, that ended up not taking place due to an injury suffered to Vikingo in rehearsals for the match.
