WWE Star Recalls NXT TakeOver Matches To Hype Raw

WWE star and former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano has recalled NXT TakeOver matches to hype his Raw match against Imperium.

On the December 4 edition of WWE Raw, DIY will face Imperium in a two out of three falls match.

This will culminate the rivalry between the two duos that started when Johnny Gargano returned to help Tommaso Ciampa fend off Imperium on the October 2 episode of Raw.

The bout will also mark the first two out of three falls match for either Gargano and Ciampa since their days in NXT when the stipulation became a hallmark of both men’s tag team and singles runs.

On Monday afternoon, Gargano took to social media to hype tonight’s Raw match and remind fans of DIY’s history with the stipulation. He wrote:

The real ones know all about #DIY & 2 out of 3 Falls matches.. You’re not going to want to miss this one! #WWERaw

DIY famously won the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Revival (now known as FTR in AEW) at NXT TakeOver Toronto in 2016. Ciampa and Gargano were also scheduled to face each other in the stipulation at TakeOver New York before Ciampa suffered an injury.
