WWE star and former multi-time tag team champion Montez Ford has addressed scrapped Street Profits’ heel turn plans.
Since the summer of 2023, Bobby Lashley has been aligned with The Street Profits’ Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins on the SmackDown brand.
The group that has since added B-Fab to their ranks have been called “The Pride” on social media and from commentary.
At the start of their partnership, The Pride were being presented as villains with all three men feuding with the likes of Rey Mysterio and the LWO. However, the faction was later reverted back to babyfaces late last year.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Montez Ford addressed the aborted heel turn for The Street Profits and Bobby Lashley. He said:
“A couple of months ago, we were trying to … make the fans not like us,. They just [said], ‘Nah, we’re not having it.'”
On the fans refusing to boo the trio and WWE rolling with their crowd reactions, Ford said:
“When the fans are passionate about something, when they want something, when they demand it, for the most part, they’re so intent with it,”
“You know that passion is real because it comes from the heart. They have every right to feel that way.”
Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits will team to face The Final Testament’s Karrion Kross and The Authors of Pain in a Philadelphia Street Fight at WrestleMania 40 on April 7.
