Current and former WWE stars have reacted to the AEW debut of Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) at AEW Dynamite: Big Business (March 13).
Amidst a metric ton of fan anticipation, Mercedes Mone was officially unveiled in AEW in front of her home crown in Boston, MA.
Appearing in both the opening and closing segments of the show, Mone was given a welcome befitting of a star, as the audience inside the TD Garden showered her with chants of ‘CEO’.
While the moment has been met with buzz online, this has not been exclusive to just Mone’s fanbase, as the former Sasha Banks’ current and former co-workers in WWE took to social media to comment on her big debut.
One of which was Tyler Breeze, who worked alongside Mone in the early years of NXT, as well as Mone frequently appearing on WWE’s UpUpDownDown YouTube channel, of which Breeze still currently works on.
Breeze said:
hell ya @MercedesVarnado
Another current WWE star, Cathy Kelley would seemingly react to the debut – not posting any words, but instead some choice emojis (see below) that suggest she was emotional watching Mone’s debut.
Nikki Garcia (Bella) posted a more comprehensive response to the news, re-tweeting a clip of Mone’s first AEW promo and sending her love in this new beginning.
“I need to be here. I want to be here. AEW is the only place where this REVOLUTION can be global.”
Massive chills from the CEO! LOVE this! And everything she represents and is doing!!

Then, also getting in on the act was a current AEW star and former WWE legend Dustin Rhodes, who posted the ‘Mercedes Mone is All-Elite’ graphic, along with the following message:
So happy for @MercedesVarnado #CEO LOVE YA KID!!

As well as these messages of support, three of Mone’s closest friends from WWE: Bayley, Tamina and Naomi were in attendance for her big AEW debut – the former of which was pictured inside the TD Garden.
