WWE Superstar Claims Main Roster Call-Up Is A Lateral Move

When NXT Fans are listing failed WWE main roster call-ups, Mojo Rawley is usually not a name on the list.  Many have probably even forgotten he was a main stay in developmental for a long time.  Mojo sat down with Sporting News for an interview.

While Mojo discussed NXT and how it has become a huge success in moving on the USA Network, the most intriguing comments were related to the superstars and main roster call-ups.

“Now, there’s guys on NXT that have no desire to move to ‘RAW’ or ‘SmackDown’ because a lot of people don’t consider moving to ‘RAW’ or ‘SmackDown’ a vertical move anymore. A lot of people now consider it a horizontal move.”

Mojo did discuss in the interview how when he was called up it wasn’t in the same place.  Back then NXT didn’t have the same drawing power as it does now.  He said back then it was definitely considered a move up if for nothing other than the size of live crowds.

What about now?  Rawley doesn’t rule out a move back to NXT.

“Wherever the opportunity is, wherever your talents will best suit you as far as whatever show, that’s where you should be especially with the fact that NXT is on USA,” said Rawley. “It’s a level playing field now. Now it’s just a matter of aligning your talent in the right field and taking it from there.”

With the rumored draft upcoming, maybe some main roster stars will make their way back down to NXT.  Again, I’m not sure Mojo Rawley is the right fit for the current NXT climate, but the superstar could use a fresh start.
