Another Match Confirmed For WWE Survivor Series 2023 WWE

Another match has been officially confirmed for WWE Survivor Series 2023 after some initial confusion on Raw.

The November 6 episode of WWE Raw saw a four-way match to decide the number 1 contender to Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship.

It was previously reported that the original plan would have seen The Miz and Ivar pin Ricochet and Bronson Reed respectively at the same time.

This would have led to a deciding #1 contender match between Miz and Ivar next week.

However, Ricochet was reportedly ‘rocked’ during the match leading to him kicking out unplanned, and The Miz being declared the sole winner.

On the November 6 episode of WWE Raw, two other matches for the November 25 event were announced, with Zoey Stark facing Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship, and WarGames returning as Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso & Sami Zayn take on Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio) & JD McDonagh.

Those two matches were added to WWE’s Survivor Series preview page straight after Raw, but Gunther vs Miz wasn’t, seemingly due to the confusion.

Well, as of today (Friday, November 10,) the WWE Survivor Series preview page has now been updated, and Gunther vs Miz has been added.

WWE is still planning Miz vs Ivar for Raw next week, but rather than it being because they both scored pinfalls, it’s because Ivar attacked Miz after the match in an impromptu angle.

As noted on the preview page, Gunther will have held the championship for 531 days by the time Survivor Series comes around.

The Miz has held the IC title eight times for a combined championship reign of 592 days.

The preview also notes that the only WWE star to have had a longer combined reign was Pedro Morales with 617 days.

If The Miz wins, he ties the all-time record number of reigns at nine – that record is currently held by AEW’s Chris Jericho.
