For those who aren’t aware, Cardi B (real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) is a world-renowned American rapper. With regards to her accomplishments, Cardi B has won one Grammy Award, nine BET Hip Hop Awards (most of any female rapper), seven Billboard Music Awards (the most of female rapper) and many more.
Cardi B responded to a fan this week revealing that she was a big wrestling fan, boasting how her favourites included Batista, Eddie Guerrero, Triple H, and WWE Hall of Famers Booker T, Edge and Lita.

Many current WWE stars responded to the tweet, including former Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella who revealed that gear she wore this week was inspired by one of Cardi’s album covers.

WWE, realising they had the chance to attract some much-needed mainstream attention, decided to acknowledge Carbi B’s comments, and tease that she will be tagging with Carmella in a match at SummerSlam on August, 11.

This comes five years after WWE and fellow Grammy award winner Justin Bieber were in talks for the singer to tag team Big Show and John Cena at SummerSlam 2014 in a match against The Wyatt Family. The plans were discussed five months before the big show, but a deal between the two parties never came to fruition.
While it might be strange to think of Cardi B in a wrestling ring, this is WWE we are talking about, and stranger things have happened.
