WWE Star Recalls ‘Real Anger’ Over Bryan Danielson Moment WWE

With Bryan Danielson in his retirement year in AEW, WWE’s The Miz recently looked back on an incident of real anger.

Danielson won the AEW World Championship, defeating Swerve Strickland at AEW All In on August 25, 2024.

At the August 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, Danielson promised that he wouldn’t retire as the AEW Champion but that he was “going to fight for the title as much” as he possibly can.

A fight of a very different kind took place between the then-Daniel Bryan and The Miz, with the WWE star reflecting on what happened between the pair on WWE Talking Smack back in August 2016.

The Miz made the comments during a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, revealing that he ‘lost control’ during the heated exchange which can be seen below this news story, saying:

“Most of the promos that you think are great, I think are terrible. Like the one with Daniel Bryan, that’s probably my most infamous, when I got back and got out of that, I was so angry, it was real anger that like I’ve never felt that type of anger before and I didn’t know what to do with it and it’s scary.

“Like, I lost control of everything and I just started yelling and the veins were popping out of my head and I look back at that and I don’t like watching it.”

He would admit that looking back and speaking about the WWE Talking Smack exchange is a source of discomfort and that it just “hits too close to home.”

In August 2022, Danielson revealed the original plans for that segment, saying that the had “wanted to get under each other’s skin”.

While it may be a source of discomfort for The Miz, he has referenced it previously, including ahead of the WWE Rivals episode that explored their feud.
