WWE Title Match Confirmed After Delay Due To Injury

After a WWE title match had to be re-scheduled due to the champ being unable to compete, now the match has been confirmed.

Previously there was a storyline injury to Ilja Dragunov that saw his medical clearance for his big title defense against Trick Williams delayed from New Years Evil.

However in a backstage segment on tonight’s show, the match was confirmed for a special upcoming date.

Ilja Dragunov informed Trick Williams that their upcoming WWE NXT Championship match would happen at the next NXT premium live event, Vengeance Day on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

While Trick was excited to share the news with Carmelo Hayes, Hayes immediately pointed out the problem with the date.

Earlier in the show, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams had already beaten Edris Enofe and Malik Blade to advance in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.

The finals of the Dusty Cup are also set for Vengeance Day on Sunday, February 4, 2024, setting up a potentially long night for Trick Williams!
