WWE To Have To Vacate Title Due To Injury?

WWE To Have To Vacate Title Due To Injury?

Following the main event of this week’s NXT, it was reported that Danny Burch was being evaluated for a separated shoulder. Unfortunately, it seems like the Englishman has suffered the injury.

Dave Meltzer is reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Danny Burch did separate his shoulder while teaming with Oney Lorcan to take on Finn Balor and Karrion Kross, which has put the future of the NXT tag titles in doubt:

Danny Burch, 39, suffered a separated shoulder during the live NXT main event on 3/17. Burch & Oney Lorcan were defending the tag titles against Finn Balor & Karrion Kross in a match made at the start of the show. The injury looks to have taken place when Kross did a spot where he was to vertical suplex both Lorcan & Burch at the same time. He didn’t really get them up well, and when slamming them, Burch landed right on his right shoulder and was screaming in pain right away. They showed him being attended to. This meant Lorcan had to work the rest of the match by himself, as the heel, and win the match. No word at press time what they are going to do about the tag titles

As Meltzer notes, it’s unclear how WWE is going to handle the situation and whether the company is going to be forced to vacate the NXT Tag Team Championship. For more on that, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.

Speaking of NXT, it has been reported that Triple H wasn’t at the show this week, or at Raw a few days prior, as he is currently quaranting. You can read more about that story by clicking here.
