Rhea Ripley Praised By WWE Legend For Adding ‘Realism’ Back Into Modern Wrestling WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart has heaped praise on Rhea Ripley for adding “realism” back into modern wrestling.

Revered as one of the absolute best in-ring performers of all-time, Hart was known for the authenticity in which he gave both his character and his work between the ropes.

For the multi-time former world champion this is an art that has been lost somewhat in the modern era, however, the Hitman did have high praise for one top WWE star in particular who he feels is flying the flag for realism for the new generation: Rhea Ripley.

Speaking to FOX Sports Australia, Hart revealed that this is a big reason why he’s a fan of the Women’s World Champion’s work.

Hart said:

“I really like her a lot.

“I really like her poise, her staying in character and sort of living her – she seems like she’s adapted a character that’s fun to play, and she’s playing into that, full tilt.

“She’s putting that realism into it; that’s what I miss in a lot of wrestling today, just making it feel more real, and she makes it feel pretty real all the time.”

Ripley is expected to defend her championship at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event from Perth, Australia on Saturday, February 24.

No plans have been set for her opponent, however, it seems as if WWE are positioning Nia Jax as a potential challenger after the Irresistible Force ‘squashed’ The Eradicator on the January 29 edition of Raw.
