WWE Tried To Get Megan Thee Stallion For SummerSlam

Earlier today, PWInsider reported that WWE tried to get Mike Tyson to record the audio for the SummerSlam opening video, which later fell through.

Fightful also reported back in the Spring that WWE had interest of bringing in Cardi B to host or be involved with this year’s SummerSlam event, even going as far as to use her song ‘Up’ as the theme song to the event. WWE sources noted that Cardi’s pregnancy put an end to plans of her being at the show.

Now, Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that alongside Tyson and Cardi B, WWE also plannd to use Megan Thee Stallion in a spot involving Bianca Belair on the show, which now will also no longer be happening.

WWE sources said that they believe it was a done deal, but were informed last weekend that it wouldn’t be happening, which as of this morning was still the case.

No reason was given as to why, and Fightful reached out to Megan Thee Stallion for a comment.

WWE did manage to secure DJ Valentino Khan for the show, and he will be performing live.
