A former WWE star’s final match has now been confirmed for next month, with said name set to team with an ECW legend.
On September 16, former WWE NXT UK star Wild Boar confirmed that he would be “stepping back from wrestling for the foreseeable future”.
In post on his Facebook page, Wild Boar reflected on a career that had taken him from backyard wrestling to WWE and all that has come from his many years.
With Wild Boar previously noting that he had one more booking ahead of stepping away from wrestling indefinitely, the former NXT UK star’s final match has been officially confirmed.
His final match will take place at Slammasters Wrestling’s Final Fall on October 19, seeing him team with Rhino against Greedy Souls (Danny Jones & Brendan White).
Addressing the match on his Facebook page, Wild Boar spoke of idolizing Rhino and being a fundamental part in the evolution of Jones & White, posting:
“To the shock of nobody, I idolised Rhino growing up and having the chance to team with him for the second time is not lost on me at all.
“I’ll never take credit for anyone because it’s a personal determination which they have and then some… but Danny Jones and Brendan White, aside from being two of the very best around, are two people I had a hand in helping early on and more importantly two of my best friends, so for them to be involved is very special to me.
“If this is the last one for me, it couldn’t be more perfect.
“I appreciate Slammasters Wrestling for putting this on, and I am very thankful.”
Wild Boar made his WWE debut during the United Kingdom Championship Tournament in 2018 and would go on to feature on NXT UK until 2022.
Danny Jones is also no stranger to WWE, having competed in NXT UK between 2019 and 2022.
Following the decision to close down the UK brand, there have been rumors of the launch of NXT Europe, with Triple H previously commenting on global expansion plans.
This match has a whole new meaning since we announced it last week.
