WWE’s Goldust Joins Law Enforcement

It has been announced today by The Sheriff’s Department of Williamson County, Texas, that WWE star Goldust – born Dustin Runnels – has been made their Honorary Deputy but will continue to compete when his schedule allows.

The declaration was made via Twitter:

Dustin, who has had his fair share of demons concerning both alcohol and narcotics during his lifetime, seems to be the perfect candidate for such a role as he has defeated those demons. Especially since his professional wrestling career is winding down as the years catch up with him. The son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes took to the social media platform to express his gratitude:

Under the Goldust guise, he is a multi-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, Hardcore Champion, and Tag Team Champion. In his earlier incarnation as ‘The Natural’ Dustin Rhodes, he’s best remembered for his stint in WCW where he reigned as their United States Heavyweight Champion, World Six-Man Tag Team Champion along with Big Josh and Tom Zenk, World Tag Team Champion with Ricky Steamboat and Barry Windham, and NWA Tag Team Champion with the latter.

He would return to the company in the late 90’s under the moniker of Seven, but that is best forgotten by all.

WrestleTalk wishes Dustin Runnels all the luck in the world in his new position.
