AAA Running MSG In September
All In isn’t the only wrestling event WWE will have to contend with this September, as PWInsider are reporting Mexican promotion AAA have a date pencilled in at WWE stronghold Madison Square Garden that same month.
If the event goes ahead, AAA would be the first non-WWE promotion to hold a wrestling show there since Vince McMahon’s father Vincent J. McMahon first started running the venue decades ago.
Despite the Garden being WWE’s spiritual home, their relationship has reportedly soured in recent years. PWInsider claim the venue is unhappy with WWE running MSG’s nearby rival, the considerably cheaper-to-hire Barclay Center, with the last straw being WWE’s decision to run all WrestleMania 35’s surrounding events there, “leaving MSG out in the cold”. As a result, the Garden are now open to letting other wrestling companies run the venue.

Ring Of Honor Planning MSG Show In 2019
…direct WWE competitors Ring of Honor!
The CEO of Sinclair Broadcasting – who own ROH – has told the Baltimore Business Journal that the promotion is planning to have an event at MSG next year, as part of their “upgrades to bigger facilities”. It seems WWE’s recent billion dollar deal with Fox and All In’s 10,000 seater sell-out in 30 minutes has not gone unnoticed, and Sinclair – which is actually a much larger company than WWE – is intent on “scaling in terms of our production quality”.
WWE Upset With MSG
Like a crazed former partner who broke up with you and is now angry that you’re moving on, though, WWE is apparently “very upset” about other wrestling promotions entering their ex – as PWInsider Elite Audio revealed:
“Apparently it just dawned on them that, ‘Oh my god, someone else is going to run MSG” for the first time since the 1920s. I really believe that WWE didn’t believe that The Garden would call them on their stuff.”
And while ROH and AAA make their moves on Vince McMahon’s ex, the new big hunk in town UFC is chatting up WWE’s current beau.
Dana White On Brock Lesnar Contract
UFC President Dana White has told TMZ Sports he believes Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract is up at the end of the Summer, and that he “knows Brock wants to take another UFC Fight”.
But who could Lesnar face? Well apparently he’s already got his eyes on someone.
“Jon Jones is very interested in Brock Lesnar and Brock is very interested in Jon Jones,”
Ooooh UFC fighting.
Jones called out Lesnar at the end of his last fight, but was suspended shortly after for failing a drug test. Brock is also serving a USADA ban, which leaves White with a bit of a logistics problem. “I’ll end up figuring that out in the next month. I don’t know how that’s gonna play out. That’s up to USADA.”
