When WWE calls Summerslam the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer,’ they might just mean the longest.
Nine matches have already been confirmed for Summerslam:
- Universal Championship:Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns (no, this isn’t WrestleMania, or the Greatest Royal Rumble)
- WWE Championship: AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe (don’t get too excited, we will probably see this five more times in the next month)
- Raw Women’s Championship: Alexa Bliss vs Ronda Rousey
- Smackdown Women’s Championship: Carmella vs Becky Lynch vs Charlotte
- Money in the Bank Briefcase: Braun Strowman vs Kevin Owens
- Intercontinental Championship:Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins
- Smackdown Tag Team Championship: Bludgeon Brothers vs The Bar OR The New Day
- Cruiserweight Championship: Cedric Alexander vs Drew Gulak
- United States Championship: Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jeff Hardy
There is also some speculation of other matches that will take place, such as:
- Daniel Bryan vs The Miz
- Bobby Lashley vs Elias
- Raw Tag Team Championships: The B-Team vs The Deleters of Worlds vs The Revival
With all these matches and as speculated by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is highly likely that WWE will have Summerslam run six hours, like they did for last year’s show. Hopefully, this will lead to some matches being given more time, rather than inserting filler matches, like Baron Corbin vs Finn Bálor for the hundredth time.
The show will start at 7 ET/ 4 PT, with a one, or even two, hour pre-show before then, and will likely run to around 12 ET/ 9 PT.
