Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that the injury suffered by NXT UK star Toni Storm is spinal related. Even though no evaluation has been carried out, the belief is that the injury isn’t as serious as first thought.
Due to the damage, Storm has been forced to cancel several indie appearances including one for WXW in Germany this coming weekend. It is being reported that she has been forced to vacate the WXW Women’s Championship because the promotion believed she’d be out of action for four months.
The injury was sustained at last weekend’s NXT UK tapings at the Insomnia Gaming Festival in Birmingham, England. Storm advanced to the Final of the NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament but fell to Rhea Ripley. The ‘X’ sign was given to those in the back and Storm was helped to the locker room.
Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai is still advertised for the Mae Young Classic Final at WWE Evolution on October 28. WrestleTalk will keep you updated on her condition.
