WWE is the land of dream matches at the moment, with Daniel Bryan set to face AJ Styles and Billie Kay taking on Naomi. Few matches fit into the “dream” category quite as much as AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels however.
There have been numerous comparisons between the two men, in terms of their charisma and in-ring style, and a match between the two of them has always been something fans have wanted.
In fact, for some time, it was speculated that the two would face off at Royal Rumble 2017, with HBK coming out of retirement for the fight.
That match never materialised, but now that Shawn is coming out of retirement to tag with Triple H at Crown Jewel (if it happens), why not ramp up the AJ Styles rumours once again?
Rajah is reporting that a source inside WWE has told them the current plan is for Shawn to wrestle three matches on his return. The tag match, a singles match with the Undertaker and then the dream match with Styles at WrestleMania 35.
Although this has not been confirmed, and if it is the plan, any build will take place next year, it does seem like the sort of thing WWE would do.
Need we remind everyone of the Roman Reigns vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania 33? In the Styles and Michaels scenario, it would be a bit different as both men are so over as baby faces, but even the visual of the two men standing face to face in the middle of the ring is pretty mouthwatering.
