WWE has confirmed that NXT UK’s first ever TakeOver show in Blackpool in January 2019 has sold out.
The show, which takes place on January 12, features a card of some of the best the UK has to offer. The current card is as follows:
- NXT UK Champion Pete Dunne vs. Joe Coffey
- NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Toni Storm
- Vacant NXT UK Tag Team Title Match: Zack Gibson and James Drake (Grizzled Young Veterans) vs. Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven)
- Eddie Dennis vs. Dave Mastiff – No DQ Match
TakeOver shows are consistently the best shows WWE put on, and there’s absolutely no reason why this won’t be the latest in that run.
The stand-out match on the card is undoubtedly the tag match between the Grizzled Young Veterans and Moustache Mountain, who have put on stellar matches for years on the indies.
The Empress Ballroom in Blackpool where the show will be hosted, has a capacity of around 3,000, minus a few for the entrance ramp and whatnot.
Given that the show only started being advertised over the weekend, the rate at which the tickets have sold out is impressive.
And speaking of which…anyone got a spare ticket?
