There has been much talk over the last couple of weeks regarding the main event of WrestleMania 35, with it being rumoured that Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey will headline.
And while that could be the plan, an alternative that has been heavily discussed is to have Triple H face a returning Batista in the main event.
This is a match that was heavily teased at SmackDown 1000, when Batista said Triple H had done absolutely everything within WWE…except beat him.
However, as Triple H’s giant purple bicep illustrated, he was rather badly injured at Crown Jewel during his tag match with Shawn Michaels against the Brothers of Destruction.
The pectoral tear he suffered is likely to keep him out for up to six months, which would mean a WrestleMania match is very much in the balance. Batista is still rumoured to be returning, but if Triple H isn’t cleared in time for the biggest show of the year, Randy Orton is the likely replacement.
While some have pointed out that John Cena returned from a pectoral tear in around three months in 2008, you have to remember that John Cena isn’t human and could probably return from the dead if he really wanted to.
