Fans of John Cena will be thrilled to hear that he’s making a triumphant return to WWE later this month that has nothing to do with the release of his new film Bumblebee.
Fans of John Cena will be less thrilled to hear that he won’t actually be making any TV appearances during this time, as his appearances will be limited to house shows.
His current schedule is as follows:
- December 26 – Raw live event (Madison Square Garden)
- December 27 – SmackDown live event (Long Island, New York)
- December 28 – SmackDown live event (Baltimore, Maryland)
- December 30 – SmackDown live event (Tampa, Florida)
Bumblebee, the new Transformers film, comes out on December 21, so presumably Cena will be using these appearances to advertise that as well as get in the ring.

A more innocent explanation is that now he’s done with being an author and an actor and JBL, he finally has time to do a bit more wresting.
With Royal Rumble in the New Year, it’s perfectly plausible that WWE would want to bring him in to start some kind of feud heading towards WrestleMania in April.
There are yet to be any rumours about who Cena could face if he does, as you would assume he will, appear at WrestleMania, but given that he is very much a part-timer now, it may be that he doesn’t wrestle at all.
