The title changes just keep coming at Wrestle Kingdom 13. EVIL and SANADA have defeated The Young Bucks and The Guerrillas of Destiny to win the IWGP Tag Team Championships and Juice Robinson has defeated Cody to win the IWGP United States Championship.
EVIL and SANADA were able to outlast the string of double team moves to win their second Tag Team Championships. SANADA was able to lock on Cold Skull before allowing EVIL to hit Everything is Evil and hitting a moonsault of his own for the win.
EVIL and SANADA were the winners of the World Tag League and earned their shot at the tag titles here at the event. Following their victory at the World Tag League Finals, EVIL and SANADA were challenged by the Young Bucks. EVIL and SANADA accepted the Bucks’ challenge and the match at Wrestle Kingdom 13 became a three-way.
EVIL and SANADA won the World Tag League for the second year in a row. This was then followed up by winning the Tag Team Championships for the second Wrestle Kingdom in a row as well. At Wrestle Kingdom 12 they managed to defeat the Killer Elite Squad to win their first Championships.
Juice Robinson was able to win back the IWGP United States Championship from Cody. Robinson lost the title to Cody back at Fighting Spirit Unleashed in September. This match was also a rematch of Cody’s debut match at Wrestle Kingdom 11 back in 2017. There Cody defeated Robinson and now Juice was able to return the favor in what may be Cody’s final New Japan match.
