According to Fightful.com‘s Sean Ross Sapp, an incredibly interesting legitimate fight may be happening down in WWE’s Performance Center soon. In the report, Sapp states that while in promo class, Shadia Bseiso called out several of the company’s “shooters” saying that she could tap out any of them in a real fight.
Remember that this class involves former MMA stars Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir. Those weren’t empty words, however, as Bseiso does have a blue belt in Brazilian-jiu jitsu and earned a silver medal at the 2014 World Pro Championships in Abu Dhabi.
Despite that, Jessamyn Duke took offense to this and simply shouted out, “no, you can’t,” throwing down the gauntlet.
Fightful.com are reporting that many in the PC are pushing for a legitimate contest between the two to take place at one of the in-house events that happen within the training center every couple of months. Sadly, these showcases are only for talent, trainers, and staff.
Although Bseiso looks impressive on paper, you have to remember who stands across from her. Duke has nine professional MMA fights to her name as well as two exhibitions on The Ultimate Fighter reality show and a further seven amateur bouts. That said, Duke’s pro record stands at 3-5-1. Those five losses are her five most recent contests.
If this battle does go down, it will be truly interesting to see who comes out on top… that is if WWE will even allow it.
