Former two-weight UFC champion and unusual human-being Conor McGregor has announced his retirement “from the sport formally known as ‘Mixed Martial Art'”.
The 30-year-old Irishman made the announcement on his Twitter page:
Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today.
I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition.
I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement.

His last fight in the octagon took place in October 2018 against Khabib Nurmagomedov, a fourth-round submission loss. According to Forbes, McGregor is worth around $100million, so it’s fair to say he’s got a decent pension now that he’s retired.
But anyway, to wrestling.
Following his announcement, another Irishman by the name of Finn Balor commented saying:
See you at ‘mania brother

McGregor is a self-proclaimed WWE fan, and although he’s not had the best social media relationship with WWE in the past, he is without doubt someone Vince would want to get on board, with McGregor’s mainstream fame and obvious outrageous personality.
It’s probably too late for McGregor to have a match, but there’s no reason why he wouldn’t appear in another segment as a special guest.
Is this something you want to see? Would you want to see McGregor as a full-time WWE star?
