Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday to discuss their historic WrestleMania 35 main event. However, the network’s graphics have caused some controversy.
The network display a graphic that says Ronda Rousey was the ”1st female inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame”. They also note that Becky Lynch ”won the 2019 Royal Rumble”. However, when it comes to Charlotte Flair they simply say she is the “daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair”.
I think that @ESPN owes @MsCharlotteWWE an apology for this.
7x Women's Champion outweighs who your father is…even if he is @RicFlairNatrBoy.#SDLive #RAW #Wrestlemania @WrestlingInc https://t.co/LSwa2RaC9w

Many people have slammed ESPN saying they were wrong to note Flair’s greatest accomplishment as being the daughter of Ric Flair. Many have said that Flair’s incredible achievements in the ring are enough of an accomplishment on their own.
Charlotte herself has even responded to the network with the following tweet:
Dear @espn
7x (now 8) WWE Women’s Champion would have been fine.
If you need a more detailed list of my accolades, feel free to reference last year’s Body Issue or one of the many articles about me on your website.
Sincerely,
Daughter of @WWE HOF’er Ric Flair

At the time of the appearance Flair was a seven-time Women’s Champion, but since her victory on Smackdown Live over Asuka, she has eclipsed Trish Stratus and is now the winningest female superstar in the company’s history. She would comically sign off her email as the ”daughter of @WWE HOF’er Ric Flair.”
Regardless of what you think of Charlotte Flair, and how she got into the business, you cannot dispute that she is one of the best and most successful female performers in the company’s history and deserves her place in the historic main event.
