Samu Anoa’i, one half of the Wild Samoans is a former WWF Tag Team Champion and a WXW legend, holding the WXW Heavyweight Champion on five separate occasions. Unfortunately, Samu is battling stage four liver cancer.
WWE and WXW have confirmed that they will be joining forces on May 29, 2019 to put on a benefit show in order to fundraise for Samu’s transplant.
Samu’s son Lance Anoa’i wrestles for MLW and was confirmed by WWE to have attended a recent tryout at the Performance Center in Orlando so it is likely Lance will be featured on the show in some capacity. No talent have been confirmed for the event, but as Samu is related to current top WWE stars Roman Reigns and The Usos, we could be seeing surprise appearances from them.
