According to a report on PWInsider, Renee Young will not be the only female from WWE in attendance at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia on Friday.
The report states that WWE veteran Natalya will be travelling to the show. A further report on Fightful states that Alexa Bliss is also making the trip to Jeddah.
The makes them only the second and third females the promotion has been permitted to take to the country since their 10-year deal started last year.
On its previous two visits to the country WWE has not been allowed to have female wrestlers on the show or even in backstage roles or hype videos. Only Renee Young – covered from head to toe – has been allowed to travel with the promotion and work on the event.
It seems very unlikely that Natalya and Bliss will be wrestling on the show. If that was happening you can guarantee WWE would have heavily hyped it by now in an effort to garner some positive publicity.
It is more likely they will be used to add a female voice to WWE’s positive promotion of the nation during the event. – Natalya especially is the queen of delivering WWE corporate PR speak in interviews.
The pair might even be there to announce that there will be a women’s match taking place at November’s Saudi event, which would definitely be a sign of progress.
