Last night on Raw, it was announced that Bayley would be defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against both Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in a 2-on-1 handicap match.
Cross, who earned her spot in the match after winning against Dana Brooke in a beat the clock challenge, then told Bayley that she should “go and find a friend” of her own.
But I didn’t think Bayley had any friends?
Oh wait, what about that friend with the purple hair that hasn’t been on TV for several months? You know the one I mean, the one that gives Michael Cole tourette syndrome.
I am of course talking about Sasha Banks, who hasn’t been on WWE TV since WrestleMania 35 in April and reportedly requested her release after dropping the women’s tag belts.
Banks has supposedly been in several meetings with WWE officials and Vince McMahon with the goal of bringing her back onto TV, but there has been very little to suggest that the meetings have been positive.
Despite this…who else could it be? Sasha Banks has apparently done some work for WWE 2K20 in recent weeks, so perhaps the relationship is a bit better than it was.
Either way, they will have had to promise her something big to get her back on their side, so perhaps we’ll finally get that heel turn she so desperately needed…after a few weeks of being Bayley’s best friend.
