At last night’s ESPY awards, Daniel Cormier – who won the Best MMA Fighter award for the second straight year – did an interview with Triple H, in which he teased coming to WWE for a match with Brock Lesnar.
Cormier and Lesnar were rumored for an MMA fight for much of last year, but it ultimately never came to fruition as Lesnar chose to stay with WWE and retire from MMA.
It all seemed very tongue-in-cheek, but here’s how the discussion went:
“I was hoping to fight Brock Lesnar.
“These guys [WWE] took him from me. Maybe I’ll follow him over there.”
Triple H responded with:
“It’s not too late.”
And Cormier finally added:
“Yeah, we can do it in WWE.”
You can watch the scene below, as well as some other interviews with WWE’s Cathy Kelley:

It has been rumored previously that new home of SmackDown Live, Fox, wanted to bring in Cormier to do commentary when the show debuts in October.
