It was confirmed yesterday that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez will be wrestling Brock Lesnar for the WWE Champion in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel later this month.
This match will be Velasquez’s first in a WWE ring but certainly not his last. WWE confirmed yesterday that Velasquez has now retired from MMA after signing a multi-year deal with the company.
This will not only be Velasquez’s first WWE match but only his third wrestling match of his career.
Therefore, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Velasquez will be at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida from Thursday, October 17 until the day WWE leave for Saudi Arabia.
“Cain’s going on Thursday to Orlando and he’ll be there until they go to Saudi Arabia.”
There is no word on if WWE will also be bringing Brock Lesnar into Florida to train with Velasquez for some of those days, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for more information on the matter.
As always, we will have live coverage of the October 31, WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view that is shaping up to be rather interesting.
