It seems as though fans aren’t the only ones voicing their displeasure at WWE’s dealings with Saudi Arabia following the shenanigans over the last couple of days.
The latest update is that WWE is owed money from the Saudi authorities, which led to Vince McMahon cutting the live feed of Crown Jewel in the region. The rumour (emphasis on the word ‘rumour’) at this point is the Saudi Prince responded by not allowing WWE talent to leave.
Some of said WWE talent have told Dave Meltzer and Wade Keller that they do not believe the story that mechanical issues are what caused the delays.
They both report that some stars plan to never go back to Saudi following the ordeal, and some can’t wait to leave the company entirely.
Some talents felt “deserted” by Vince, who got away early via private jet. It’s unknown whether he actually knew they were going to be delayed when he left, but some are still upset by it either way.
McMahon, along with Kevin Dunn and some other staff left on one private jet, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman left on their private jet, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Jimmy Hart left on theirs, and Tyson Fury also got away early but it’s unknown who he flew with.
Among the talent left stranded was former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez who had made his WWE debut in a loss to Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title.
It’s also believed that talent was upset that when Vince called for some of them to fly back early to attempt to get them back for SmackDown he only handpicked a select few.
