Over the weekend, AEW booked a dream match for this week’s episode of Dynamite on TNT between The Young Bucks’ Nick Jackson and Rey Fenix of the Lucha Brothers.
The tag team ladder match between The Lucha Brothers and The Young Bucks for the AAA World Tag Team Championships at All Out stole the show. It will be interesting to see what Fenix and Nick can go in a singles match.
This will be Nick Jackson’s first-ever singles match in AEW. All of his previous encounters have involved him tagging with his brother Matt in some capacity.
It has now been revealed on the latest episode of Being The Elite that Matt is currently injured and unable to compete. This has led some to speculate why AEW decided to book Nick in a singles match.
The nature of Matt’s injury is not yet known, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on that. Whatever injury he has suffered, let’s hope we see The Young Bucks tagging together before too long.
This comes after it was revealed that fellow Elite members Kenny Omega and Cody suffered injuries at Full Gear and have also been ruled out of action.
