Following WrestleMania 35 in April this year, former Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper requested his WWE release publicly on Twitter.
With AEW debuting just a few months later, WWE decided not to let Harper leave the company, instead adding injury time onto his current deal.
Harper actually returned to WWE TV at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view where he helped Rowan defeat Roman Reigns.
If you forget a throwaway appearance in the battle royal at Crown Jewel, Luke Harper has not been seen on WWE TV since the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view early last month.
It has speculated that Harper could leave the company before the Summer of next year, and his recent trademark activity might suggest that he is preparing for his exit.
PWInsider is reporting that Harper has filed to trademark the name Brodie Lee. This is the name that Harper used on the independent scene for many years before being signed to WWE in 2012.
