It was announced during tonight’s NXT that there will be a major championship match on next week’s show, which falls on Christmas day.
The Undisputed ERA’s Roderick Strong will defend his NXT North American Championship in an open challenge, meaning we don’t know who his opponent will be.
There was also a big tag match announced for the show, with Keith Lee teaming up with former Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush to take on Damian Priest and another former Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese.
On this week’s show, Adam Cole retained his NXT Title over Finn Balor due to Johnny Gargano returning to distract Balor, and Rhea Ripley was crowned the new NXT Women’s Champion after beating Shayna Baszler in the main event.
There will be no episode of AEW Dynamite next week to compete with WWE’s yellow brand as it usually would.
