Sports Illustrated is reporting that AEW is in talks to sign New Japan Pro Wrestling star and former IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer.
According to the report, multiple sources close to All Elite Wrestling have confirmed Archer is in talks to join the promotion. The New Japan star is currently on tour with NJPW, which will include their tour of the United States.
Archer took a big step forward in 2019. He competed in the G1 Climax where he had the match of his career against Will Ospreay and went on to win the IWGP United States Championship at King of Pro Wrestling. His stock has never been higher and it appears that AEW has taken notice.
Standing at 6’8, Archer would be one of the largest men on All Elite Wrestling’s roster. Another agile and talented big man could do a lot to diversify AEW’s growing roster.
