It is being reported that currently suspended WWE United States Champion Andrade could be dropping the title pretty soon.
Sports Illustrated notes that according to sources, Andrade’s days with the title are “numbered”.
He is currently serving a 30-day suspension due to violating the company’s wellness policy, but is still the current champion.
His suspension ends on February 27, the same day he has been booked in a gauntlet match at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia.
Also announced for that gauntlet match – which is for the Tuwaiq Trophy – are AJ Styles, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, Erick Rowan and R-Truth.
Andrade has been United States Champion since December 26, where he defeated Rey Mysterio at a house show at Madison Square Garden.
Since then, his rivalry with Mysterio has continued, and has also brought in fellow Mexicans Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza. In fact, the storyline reason for Andrade’s absence is that he suffered a DDT on the ringside concrete from Carrillo.
Paul Heyman reportedly made the decision to let Andrade keep the title during the suspension rather than putting it on Carrillo.
