A major NXT star wrestled on last night’s NXT UK TV taping, and looked to set up a match or two with stars from that brand.
On the February 26 NXT, Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner of NXT UK’s Imperium group ambushed Finn Balor while he was cutting a promo announcing what was coming next for him.
A week later, Balor proclaimed that he was coming for NXT UK Champion and Imperium leader, WALTER.
At last night’s taping, Balor defeated the fourth member of Imperium, Alexander Wolfe, in a singles match, but was then greeted by another interesting name.
Tyler Bate answered an open challenge from Balor, so the two brawled, seemingly setting up a match between them down the line.
It is unknown whether this will take place at the next NXT UK taping, on NXT USA, or even at all, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated with any developments.
It all seems to be leading to the Irishman challenging WALTER, but it’s unclear at this time whether it’ll be at NXT TakeOver: Tampa on April 4, or at NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin on April 26.
