According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wanted one more person to appear at WrestleMania over the weekend. Supposedly, WWE wanted Hulk Hogan to appear at WrestleMania.
No, he wasn’t going to be in a match. Vince wanted him to make an appearance on the show.
Reportedly, the two sides couldn’t come to a financial agreement to make it work. However, both sides were trying to make it happen.
Meltzer doesn’t speculate on what role Hogan was going to play at the pay-per-view. He just confirmed it was not for a match.
Looking at the card, with Gronk as the host, he seems like he would have been an odd fit almost anywhere on the card. However, there is one place where he might have worked.
Couldn’t you see him as part of John Cena’s flashback? Where Bray Wyatt did the impersonations of Hogan from the ’80s and ’90s would have been something if Hogan appeared.
Let me tell you something brother, Hogan behind that cage would have made a lot of sense. One thing that doesn’t make a lot of sense is why WWE still tries to bring Hogan in.
He hasn’t proven to be a huge pop in ratings. Obviously, he’s said some controversial remarks that have led to bad blood in the past.
Hopefully, he’s mended those fenced and apologized appropriately, but can those ever be mended?
