There is an update on the status of former WWE star Cain Velasquez who was quietly released by companies over the last couple of weeks.
Velasquez, who only wrestled one match on broadcast, that being against Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Crown Jewel 2019, is of course a former UFC Champion, so rumours have bene rumbling about him returning to UFC.
However, his former MMA coach Javier Mendez ruled that out in an interview with SiriusXM, simply saying that “he’s wrestling”.
Of course with the current state of the world it might be a little while until we see him wrestling again, but it’s not like he hadn’t done before signing with WWE.
He wrestled two matches in AAA prior to joining WWE, one in August and one in September of 2019.
There’s no word on exactly where he’ll be returning, but Mexico seems like a safe bet. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for any further updates as they become known.
