One of the shocking moments of Money in the Bank was when Vince McMahon made an appearance in the main event. However, another was the length of the show.
Money in the Bank clocked in at 2 hours 24 minutes, including a one hour pre-show. This made it the shortest WWE pay per view since the infamous ECW December to Dismember show in 2006.
Now, we know that McMahon himself is the one calling for shorter pay per views. The report comes from Paul Davis of Wrestling News. The current plan is for WWE to run shorter pay per views until fans are allowed back. There is still no indication of when that will be.
WWE has started running exceptionally long pay per views over the last few years. Shows that used to clock in at around three hours were now going closer to four with the bigger shows going as long as seven and a half hours. The reasoning behind this was the company wanting to say fans were spending more time watching the WWE Network than ever.
Money in the Bank saw Asuka and Otis win the respective women’s and men’s Money in the Bank contracts.
