AEW has been rather unfortunate with injuries this week, with two of their top stars likely missing Double or Nothing this weekend after picking up knocks during matches on Dynamite this week.
It is believed that Britt Baker, who has been doing some fantastic work as a heel in recent months, will be missing the show due to injury. Britt is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, and is expected to miss between 6-9 months of in-ring action. This is a big blow to AEW, with its women’s division lacking in star power as it is.
As if Britt missing the show wasn’t enough, it is also believed that Rey Fenix will be pulled from the pay-per-view after picking up an injury during his great match this week on Dynamite with Orange Cassidy.
Bodyslam is reporting that Fenix, who took a nasty fall to the outside on Wednesday’s show will likely be unable to compete this weekend at Double or Nothing, so may be pulled from the match:
‘I also asked if Fenix would be good to go Saturday in the Casino Ladder Match, and was told, “I highly doubt it. If he does go, he’ll probably be one of the last entrants and won’t do hardly anything.”
Like with Britt’s injury, AEW has yet to confirm that Fenix is hurt and will miss Saturday’s pay-per-view, so make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest.
